What is Psychology?
Human Psychology is the science of mind and human behavior. The general definition may refer to the profession, also referred to as clinical psychology; the scholarly discipline, referred to as academic psychology or educational psychology; or the scientific pursuit, research psychology.
A learner pursuing a psychology major may later find work as a psychologist, or specifically as a child psychologist. He or she may specialize in any number of psychology jobs. Such specialties include forensic psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, health psychology, and positive psychology.
A Psychology degree prepares the learner for so much more than psychological assessment or administering a psychology test. The skills required in the degree also highly sought in the private sector. These skills include communication and interpersonal abilities, identification of the human factors in decision-making, academic writing, critical thinking, analysis, abstract reasoning, and presentation skills.
